November 2008
After receiving a total of 33 entries, the judging has now been completed. The votes were spread over 10 different shots, but three stood out above the rest -
First Place
Mullatov's Japanese take-off shot Chosen for very rare subject matter and excellent use of slow shutter speed. Some also commented on the lighting
Second Place
Boff180's LPG Lightning Chosen for excellent composition with the hangar in the background
Third Place
Dunk's VC-10 by night Chosen for good use of long-exposure and excellent composition
All pics have been uploaded at the moment to my photobucket, but hopefully to the 'Gallery' feature on the forum shortly.
If Mullatov could contact me or another mod by PM, together with his name and address, we will arrange for his prize to be forwarded out to him.
Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to all who entered, we have seen some fantastic shots. Let's hope December's competition is as tough to judge. This will be set up on or around the 20th.

December 2008
Ok, the votes have been tallied and we have our winners!
45 entries this month, compared to only 33 last time around. The mod's votes were well spread across the board but our winners are as follows -
First Place
Reptile 1's low-flying German Tonka. Chosen for rare subject matter and the motion blur on the snowy hills, whilst keeping the aircraft sharp
Second Place
Kevin Martin's Swiss Hornet Chosen for the winter setting, composition with the jet wash below the aircraft and also the sheer amount effort in getting into a position to shoot this in the first place!
Third Place
Glenn Beasley's frosty Typhoon Chosen for great lighting and sharpness
If Reptile 1 could PM me I will arrange for his chosen prize to be forwarded to him.
Well done to all who entered, don't forget winners, look out for your photo's on Airscene-UK shortly.
All the winning shots are now hosted on our photobucket (if any winner would prefer it not to be, please PM me)
January's competition will be set up shortly, along with another competition we will be running alongside the main competition. Keep your eyes open for that!

Photo of the Year 2008
First Place
Dunk's Gripen Beautiful lighting
Second Place
Pen Pusher's Golden Vulcan Again, lighting was spot on, one of the best Vulcan shots we have seen from last year
Third Place
Dave934's low-fly Spitfire What a buzz it must have been to see that come through! Low-fly photography takes a lot of devotion and the team recognised the effort that must have gone into this.
Well done to all who entered.
