Does anybody Know if this site is secured for the foreseeable future or does it look likely that it will fall to cuts when they next come around? Just curious on this one? :)

I don't think there are any plans to close it - at least none that I've seen.

Hello All,

It was due to close a couple of years back, its future is pretty safe now. The cost of re-locating the facilities and cleaning up the site was far too much. Anyhow, they have the best real fire facilities of any fire service training facility i have been too! With the added bonus of old aircraft. (which you set fire to every now and then)
