9? Not much different to a Graduation then. Thought they might have made it a bit more special than that - unless of course there are other items flying through or taking part in a static display etc - seems to be a bit low key or at least kept well under wraps....

Seems like everybody expects too much, lintons my airfield, and the RAF has given me much pleasure over the years. i think this one on the 9th may have more to offer than you expect, remember the 1st may, this was a good grad. Just like Waddington yesterday we all wanted to see the vulcan fly,but we were all dissapointed it didnt. Linton might just surprise you, however as you all know the weather and operations stage the show!!

What happened to the '31 aircraft' then? I must admit, I'd be interested to know what, if much, has been planned. That said, these days with the RAFs extremely limited display quota is there really much that can expected beyond the usual flypasts of a graduation? Be interested to know if anyone knows more!

There was a 9 ship flypast over York today. They came over Heslington about 3.30ish. I think it 9 as I just caught them through the cloud. Don't know if it was a practice for the 9th. H

I'll be sure to keep my eyes peeled tomorrow for them again, thanks for the heads up everyone!

For info for anyone coming to Linton today for this event who hasn't yet set off yet we have just been moved (8.00am local) from the Viewing/spotting area at Linton and it has now been fenced off to stop anyone parking there. When asked why we had to move was told the area was being kept clear for emergency vehicles.

Latest update at Linton, the police have now coned of the road from the village past the 03 threshold to the far side of the base. They are also stopping anyone from standing on the fence line along the main road There have been no base movements yet and the only arrival has been a Barkston Firefly. At present there are approx 15 Tucanoi's on the line, one JP and one Tiger moth. Colin

wow there not been very helpful are they, surely raf police at linton would know theres gonna be a bit more than average traffic around the area and would open the gates to let people park on the base and ease the traffic abit
