Just wondered if anyone knows if theres a way of discharging batteries without having to just hold the shutter until it simply goes dead? I know its a silly question but i only ask as i dont like charging my batteries up until they have gone completly dead because it has knackered a couple of my batteries before.

any help/ info will be much appreciated
Martin

If you fully charged them when they were new, there shouldn't be any problem with topping them up after that.

Pretty certain from reading some info that the new modern cells do not suffer with the memory effect

No need to discharge modern LiON batteries, and unless you want to wear out your camera PDQ, I don't use use the shutter to wear discharge the power source.
