Spent an enjoyable few hours between Brecon and Sennybridge this afternoon, walking the hills. Seem's like the RAF were out enjoying the sunshine too! saw the following.
14:45 1x Tornado GR4 "Rocket 1" circling me twice at medium level before dropping to low level, when another 2 Tornado GR4s "Rocket 2-3" appeared behind him, coming from behind Pen-y-fan. I'm guessing "Rocket 1" was acting as an airborne FAC calling in the other 2 to attack the factories just south of Brecon town. After around 2-3 minutes circling the area at low level they all headed west, before climbing out around 20 minutes later and RTB'd through the Lichfield RC.
14:50 1x Hawk low level heading east before turning hard to head towards Hay on Wye
15:20 2x Hawk's "Raider 1-2" working 369.425 in battle formation low level heading northeast and then turned to head back west.
16:05 2x Harrier GR9's "Poison 1-2" low level heading northeast with 1x Hawk "Bronze 2" acting as a bounce, chased them down into the valley before heading north
16:20 1x Hawk "Bronze 2" medium level RTB to Yeovilton headingsouth
16:30 1x Hawk low level heading west
17:00 1x Hawk "VYT 34" very low level flew right over Brecon town from the north before turning hard to head west, climbed out of low level north of Carmathen on a bingo fuel call for RTB Valley
17:10 1x Tornado GR4 "Sultan 3" low level, exited the Lichfield RC, routed from Hay on Wye over Brecon heading west
17:12 2x Tornado GR4s "Sultan 1-2" low level heading west
(Also saw a really old prop aircraft, looked like a Vimy heading west at 1500, im told the Vimy was due in Ireland today)
Quite a busy couple of hours, just like the old days!!!!
Radio log also posted
Thanks for reading
