Families Day 2009 ?????

Hi all
Anybody know if there will be a Families day at RAF Coningsby this year :?: . Quite enjoyed the displays last year :) until at hammered down :x . Story of last year i guess: Aircraft Displays = Rain.

i was there ;ast year as well and it was a great display of aircraft and weather as well lol i would also like to no this date as well if any one knows

Bit of a shame that....this is when Paul Day decided to part my hair at last years Families Day :affraid:

Yes, what a cracking display from Paul Day as always, and so so low. I see him display that spitfire at East Kirkby throughout the year and its just breathtakingly low.

I did assume that there would be no families day in 09 with there being a new station commander, probably too busy to organise one this year with coningsby being just about the busiest base in the country. Also the Hawk displays for 09 have been announced and there is no Coningsby on there, unlike last year.

I guess we should never say never though and just keep an eye out.

It does seem of late coningsby tends to have a families day every other year this has been the case since 2006

I do kind of agree because 2006 they put on the best families day i have ever seen with about 20 different aircraft in the flying display. In 2007 though there was a sole display from the typhoon on a Saturday in late May, the same sort of time they put on the families day in 06. This was not just a practice though as it was planned, and on the typhoon display calendar, but i have no idea what this was for. Could have been a families day, but i dont know.

Mon 10th August - RAF Scampton Families Day
Thu 27 August - RAF Benson Families day
Sat 12 September - RAF Leeming Station Families Day
Sept 19th RAF Marham IX B Sqn reunion Day. (Big display for 95th Anniversary - maybe a USAF B1B doing a display as well.)
RAF Cottesmore Families day could be a big affair with all 4 Harrier Sqns flying.
