Sorry in advance for the writing, just wanted to record my 2 days and people who have never been before may find it interesting...
The plan was for thursday to be spent at Deptford to get the hercules (as next month there is no notified landings) and also to get the paratroopers dropping at Foxcovert. The friday was to be the better day as i would try and chase the MI-8 Hip and to get some confined helis.
Day 1 - Very quiet day...Boscombe down was shut. Also the Lyneham boys never showed both at DD and Foxcovert. Plenty of Squirrils and a brief visit from a Junglie Seaking and Apache but seen it all before...however was good to meet Max, Karl and Geoff and to catch up Dave...
Day 2 - A C-130 dropped 1 water bottle then left... was then treated to another Junglie with the friendliest crew iv ever seen...just a shame at that point i also had 2 Apaches to my left and a Chinook doing quick stops to my right and a Hip behind me! I decided to focus on the Hip as that was objective 1 of the day. In the afternoon the 2 hercs in formation came over the horizon for another drop i noticed 2 merlins darting down the valley and into some woods. I left the car at the DZ and ran after them, what a bad decision as it was a good 3 miles! when i got there they were just pulling out and didnt come back so went to my car so i could get the drop still...just as they were dropping i saw 1 merlin return so this time drove there and the second i get there it flew away...
This morning feeling very sore from all the running butl learnt alot about the plain on this trip and made it worth while.
Anyway on with the pics, not the best but gives you some idea...
Poor light and conditions - not my best work - hope there acceptable.

Great action photos Rick 
Love the third shot of the Merlin as it disappears into the trees (actually looks as though it's crashing down into them!!!), and also the silhouette is great.

The first Squirrel shots is a bit nice!!
The first merlin shot is a craker!
Do like the shots of the Hip!!
