PostSubject: Forum Rules Forum Rules Empty2008-11-13, 13:30

1 - No swearing or foul language of any nature in any section of the forum.

2 - No deliberate advertising of websites or forums on Fighter Control. If you have information please post it, don’t advertise your website where the updates to the information can be found.

3 - If you have a specific question about a squadron or an airfield please post in that bases area. Please DO NOT post these questions anywhere else.

4 - This forum is a place for all ages of the aviation community, please respect this and do not post or link to derogatory or pornographic material.

5 - Respect the decisions of the ADMINISTRATION TEAM.

6 - If you personally disagree with the actions of a moderator, please contact a senior team member via Private Message or Email explaining your problem. Do not post any problems publicly on the forum; this will result in action which result to you in having a yellow card and various privledges removed.

7 - Please be courteous and respectful to other Fighter Control community members at all times. Any posts designed to be deliberately confrontational or are "flamebate"/liabless will be deleted without warning and/or a ban will be put into effect.

8 - Please do not re-transmit any 'advanced' information posted on this forum if the 'posting member' requests it. Failure in this will result in a reduction in the amount of 'advanced' information divulged in the future. Please place a message to the effect at the top of your post if this is required... all other information that is obtained from other groups that is transferable must be credited with the source.

9 - Moderators can and will edit/delete posts or entire threads that are in breach of any rules without warning. However, a Private Message by the moderator in question will be sent explaining why the action has been taken with a link to these rules.

10 - Photographic images should only be posted in the Photo Sections and Maximum size is 800x600. However; special permission can be given for images to be posted in other areas of the forum by a moderator.

11 - Fightercontrol wishes to remind members that they must use correct grammar and in no way short-hand 'text speak'.

Mobile Text typing is pure laziness and is not welcome on this forum. It is very annoying to other members who put an effort in to making sure their posts are correct and people can read them properly.

If a member does have learning difficulties then so be it, a polite reply or post to the Team is all that is needed to let the Team know.
However we will not accept that excuse regarding 'text type' as this is simply childish and lazy.

For those members who do not know what 'text type' is, an example can be seen below:-

"Hi yuu, wuu2."... or "I reli ned 2 go bk 2 skwl 2 lrn hw 2 reed or wrte nd b beta at postn msgs"

Your post will be immediately removed if the team see any member posting text type in their message. And a friendly reminder for those who do not use punctuation.

Many members can have a "typo" or two and so this is will be overlooked however a continuous lack of grammar and punctuation will be seen as a rule break and will be acted upon.

12 – This forum is concerned with military movements and not with civilian of any kind, an exception to this rule are ex-military movements, ALL posts must be made in English.

13 - As Fighter Control is a community for all walks of the military aviation hobby, we ask that members posting information about an airfield do not use the ICAO airfield code alone, please state the name of the airfield in question and code if needed. Not all members know what an ICAO code is and will find it difficult to know unless they keep having to looking it up.

14 - As above, we are a community of different sectors in the hobby and so stating just the serial code/registration of an aircraft is not acceptable. Posters are reminded that when submitting a post about aircraft movements that they state the TYPE of the aircraft and not just the serial. It gets very time consuming if members have to keep looking up the serial on the internet or in books just to know the type of aircraft.
Not everyone on this forum (infact a vast amount) are spotters, we cater for monitors and general enthusiasts also and so not everyone will know what serial is related to what type. So please, if you want the serial stated, do so with the type aswell.

15 - Always state your general location (city or area location) when posting in the Overhead/OTT section of the forum.
Listening to aircraft and posting what is happening is no good if you do not state your location so others know where it is being monitored from in the UK or elsewhere. Please respect other members.

16 - No DOUBLE posting, ie. same posting in two separate sections, this can only be achieved by Admin & Mods.

17 - Under NO circumstances is the FC name to be used to gain access or attempt to gain access to any show, base or military establishment without the permission of an FC Admin. Failure to do this will result in a instant ban no questions asked.

18 - Personal attacks or aggressive behaviour via pm to any member of the FC Team will result in a yellow card being issued and the ability to post threads or pm's disabled for 2 weeks. Should there be a second incident an immediate ban will be issued with no appeal.

19 - Admin at Fighter Control reserves the rights to modify these rules at any time.

NB: THESE RULES APPLY TO ALL SECTIONS OF THE FORUM.
