Crikey. I didn't realise that it had been finalised that 6 squadron would definitely reform and equip with Typhoons. I thought it was only a proposal at this stage?

I think the first typhoons will be the tranche 2's that have recently been delivered. I think these have gone on to 17 squadron but will find their way through to 6 when they have done the necessary work. 6 squadron should officially stand up at Leuchars in 2010 I believe (should still be at Coltishall )
Hope this helps, though obviously feel free to correct if I'm out!!

Aye Leuchars rumoured, at the minute, to get 2 Squadrons maybe three. All dependant on buying the full complement. I'd like to see a reformed 74 Squadron get Typhoons. Anyone any good at art and care to do a rendering of a 'Phoon in tiger markings? drool. drool. That would look so sweet. (think we did this all once before though?)
