Bopara has to go........

The selectors can't keep "giving him a chance"!

A shocking performance from England. Mad Ramprakash could be recalled according to the BBC News

Absolute rubbish that was. Bopara definitely must go. I see him more as a replacement for Colly when he stops playing. Bell should never have been in the team. Key and Trott should be at 3 and 4 for the final match. A must win. I can't wait!

2005 does seem a long time ago. But every dog has its day just remember the drubbing that was

meted out to Australia in 1956 at Old Trafford when Jim Laker captured 19 wickets in the Test

Match and England won that series 2-1. So dont give up hope just yet.

PostSubject: Flintoff cleared for Ashes finale The Ashes - Page 2 Empty2009-08-10, 15:44

England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff is expected to be fit for the final Ashes Test starting at The Oval on 20 August.
The 31-year-old missed the fourth Test at Headingley but the swelling on his right knee had eased when it was assessed by a specialist on Monday.

Bopara should switch with Collingwood now, Colly has never been a class player, more of a grafter and in my opinion fails more times than he succeeds (good fielder though). I think freeing Bopara up at five would be the smart move as he has too much flair for #3, especially when one of the top two is out early. I'd bring in Key at 3 and Ramprakash at 4, Ramps would be a smart move as in a one off game he'd bat without fear (unlike the other 52 games he played for England when he openly admitted he was a bag of nerves!!). I think Trott would be a gamble in this match, no international Test experience, a massive game for debut, is he worth the punt??? Get shot of Harmy too, you wouldn't think he used to be the worlds number one bowler, welcome back Super Fred!!

Cheers,

England are set to take a major gamble in the crucial fifth Ashes Test by replacing Ravi Bopara with the uncapped Jonathan Trott, BBC Sport understands.

Tis very true Dunk, what though about Bell, Collingwood, Cook and keeping Harmison in the squad? Ramprakash would be too contentious a selection but Rob Key should certainly come in and you have the likes of Mike Carberry of Hampshire and James Hildreth of Somerset who should be given a chance, both cracking county players and have real talent.

Like you said I can't see us winning it, here's hoping though!!
